The Mecklock system was born in Italy in 1989 in response to the strong demand from drivers and insurance companies frustrated by the frequent car thefts occurring in Italy for a highly reliable anti-theft device. This device is installed on hydraulic brakes and will not allow the vehicle to move unless this key is set. While it does indeed operate the brake circuit, it does not modify the system itself, so it does not fall under the category of modifications that require notification to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Installation is carried out only at DMV-certified factories under our technical guidance, so if done according to the manual, there will be no issues at all. This device is neither an alarm nor GPS; it is simply a system that prevents the car from moving. The greatest advantage of this system is that even if it is discovered, the time required for removal increases, making theft even more difficult. In Italy, there are about 50,000 vehicles equipped with the Mecklock system, and there have been no cases of complete theft.
